It is a condition of accepting a grant from The Gabo Trust that a report is submitted within two months of the end of the academic year in the case of internships or student bursaries, or within two months of the completion of any other project or purchase of equipment. The report must include a copyright notice for both text and photographs which remain the authors' property. The Gabo Trust may quote from your report in its own publicity material without further reference to you. Photographs submitted should be original and will not be returned. They must be clearly labelled and may be used by The Gabo Trust in its own publicity without further reference to you. The Gabo Trust should be acknowledged in any report or publication arising from your grant and a copy must be sent to the secretary of the Gabo Trust.
These should be two to three sides of A4, containing a brief outline of the course and of your work during the year. In the case of courses lasting longer than one year, a report should be submitted to the Gabo Trust at the end of each year and on completion of the course. Examples of rewarding experience or special objects conserved are important, together with an analysis of how you found the course and what it has contributed in terms of preparing you for the future. Any serious failures of the course should also be stated.
Your report should be accompanied by one or two photographs of you working on an object and at least one 'before and after' pair of photographs. Digital photographs should be submitted both as printouts and on disc: both should be clearly labelled.
These should be a minimum of one page A4, longer for study grants. The report should tell us clearly what you hoped to achieve or study and it should analyse the success or otherwise of the project. It should also include an evaluation of the benefits to you, and to conservation in general.
Where possible please include photographs in your report, which must be clearly labelled. Digital photographs should be submitted both as printouts and on a labelled disc.
Reports of study projects, if Trustees of the Gabo Trust consider reports to be sufficiently interesting, these will be lodged in the Tate Archive, where they will be available to other conservators.
A brief report of about one page A4 should confirm the installation and use of the equipment. A small label, to be supplied by the Gabo Trust, should be attached to the equipment. At least one photograph of the equipment in use should be submitted, clearly labelled. Digital photographs should be submitted both as printouts and on a labelled disc.
Please note that failure to comply with these conditions will prejudice any future applications from you and may, in the case of students, prejudice applications from other students in the same institution.
